Changing Text Color

By default, the text you type is black. You can change the default color of all the text or the color of particular character.

  1. Choose Tools > Background/Text Colors... or click the Background and text color button on the Character attributes palette

  2. In the middle of the Background & Colors window, you see a list of items whose colors you can change. Click the appropriate Text button. Selected Text changes the color only of the text you have highlighted; Document Text changes the color of all the text in the document.

A blue triangle indicates it's selected.

  3. Click in the color wheel to select a new color or adjust the RGB and value sliders. If the color wheel is black, drag the Value slider to the right or select one of the colors in the Custom Color menu button.

The color chip changes to show the color you've selected.

  4. Press the Apply button to apply the color change and leave the Background & Colors window open; press the Close button to close the window.

All of the text in the document changes.

By default, text that users can click to follow a link is blue. To change the color of these links, see Changing the Appearance of Links.
